The North East’s biggest transport gateway is going from strength to strength, with record passenger numbers, investment and choice of international and domestic destinations. Aberdeen Airport is this year also celebrating being named the Most Improved Airport in the World by the Airports Council International – based on customer satisfaction scores. The airport beat the likes of Hong Kong, Ottawa and George Bush Houston Airports to the prestigious title. The airport is working hard to introduce top-class facilities to add to the huge number of developments which have taken place recently, including a major expansion of the security search area, the opening of the completion of the £10 million Departure Lounge – opened by Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond – as well as introducing new destinations to its expanding portfolio of holiday and business services.
