Barca

Barca, once owned by Mick Hucknall, is one of Manchester’s liveliest bars. Split between indoor and outdoor zones, the recently-refurbished venue does a roaring trade through the summer months. When the sun burnishes the clouds, step onto the canal-side decked terrace and enjoy a cold beer or two. Thanks to its outdoor bar, you needn’t return to the main lounge when it’s time for a refill. During summer, barbecues are regularly held outdoors, soundtracked by live music which helps to create something of a festival vibe. When the mercury drops, Barca proves to be as endearing inside as out. The bar area is clean and spacious, and the large glass windows allow plenty of light to stream through. Relax on one of the leather sofas while you browse the extensive drinks menu. All televisions are equipped with Sky Sports, meaning you can catch the big game while you drink. When hunger calls, head upstairs to the restaurant that enjoys views over the stunning Castlefield canal basin. The menu offers an extensive selection of gastropub food as well as more traditional offerings. Incorporate Barca into your pub crawl or spend a few hours enjoying the good food and drinks in an atmosphere that is unfailingly cheerful.

I hired the VIP Lounge last night for a surprise party. It was fabulous! The venue, staff, service, communication & assistance! I really can’t rate the staff & function rooms highly enough! Also supplied a great DJ! Atmosphere was perfect! Thank you so much! I will recommend you to anyone who asks! Looking forward to returning for a family wedding function next year! 5 stars all round!

Very very busy in the summer, but a great location overlooking the canals and under the railways. Outside bar is very good and takes cards, but don't expect them to have the same selection of beers etc that they do inside. Still highly recommended
