Situated in the historic grounds of the old Ballumbie Castle Estate, this stunning 18-hole golf course is conveniently located less than two miles from Dundee City Centre, just North of Claypotts Junction of the A92. The course itself is a par 69 (SSS70) and measures 6157 yards from the medal tees. Every hole is different, with challenging water hazards on four of them, and the course will require you to use all the clubs in your bag. The facilities are exceptional, with a 20-bay covered timbered driving range, a friendly, relaxed clubhouse with public bar and restaurant, and the capability to host corporate clients and celebratory events. Buggies and trolleys are available for hire from the well-stocked pro shop, which club professional Lee Sutherland has run since the course opened in June 2000. At £30 a round, seven days a week, golf doesn’t get much better than this.

Considering the competition within the area, which has world rated courses close by this is a hidden gem, enjoyed playing on route to Carnoustie, not expensive either, the dollars are not as free as they once were.
