La P'tite Folie
La P’tite Folie - The Little Madness - can be enjoyed at two locations, on Randolph Place and on Federick Street, both in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town. Wherever you choose to dine, both restaurants provide customers with delicious traditional French cuisine such as Moules Marinieres, Breast of Barbary Duck served with Spiced Plum Sauce, as well as fresh fish of the day dishes. Inside the restaurant feels warm and welcoming with wooden tables and chairs and a picture of the Eiffel Tower adorning the wall. There is a delightful laissez-faire attitude, and the waiters are only too happy to serve you. This is the perfect setting in which to enjoy the wholesome, hearty food on offer here, with both La P’tite Folies boasting varied and unpretentious menus with gutsy cuisine. The restaurants are open for lunch between 12 and 3pm with a two course lunch available for just £9.50, excellent value when quality mains like Salmon and Smoked Haddock Fishcake with Gribbiche Sauce are on the menu. Dinner is served between 6 and 11pm and is equally tempting, with mouthwatering traditional French dishes like Roast Monkfish Tail with Shellfish Risotto or Pan Fried Escalope of Veal served with Fresh Basil, Lemon Butter and Parmesan shavings. There are naughty desserts to follow your dinner, as well as an excellent selection of quality French wines, along with other offerings from around the globe. La P’tite Folie at 9 Randolph Place also has a separate wine bar area serving light lunches daily, or why not treat yourself to a charcuterie and cheese board and a bottle of wine - a great way to end the week!
Both restaurants are available for private hire and La P’tite Folie can also lay on one of their famous raclette parties for you and your friends to enjoy. Advance booking is recommended.
