Sheila Fleet designs sophisticated silver, enamel, gold, diamond and platinum jewellery collections reflecting times past and present. She is inspired by Orkney’s history, folklore and beautiful landscape. Following her graduation from Edinburgh College of Art she worked for 26 years in the trade as a designer before setting up on her own in 1993, winning many design awards in both Britain and Europe. In 2008 Sheila opened her first jewellery Gallery on mainland Scotland in Stockbridge, Edinburgh. This has proven to be a huge success. In her country workshop a small vibrant team work hard to produce Orkney’s premier jewellery. Each design carries Sheila’s origination makers punch mark, SD (Sheila Dearness being her maiden name). Each piece of jewellery comes boxed with a design origination card, and includes documentation of the research which inspired the collection.
