This fantastic neighbourhood bar is situated on the corner of Bell Street in Glasgow’s vibrant Merchant City. The décor is chic and cozy, with welcoming leather sofas and kitsch pop-culture adornments on the walls. Regular sporting events are shown on the big-screen TVs, and there’s a pool-table to keep patrons entertained. The drinks list is extensive, and the cocktails in particular are great (try the sublime Pina Colada). The outdoor seating area is great for covert people-watching and chilled al fresco dining, with food served from 12 noon - 8pm. There’s a sterling new Sunday Brunch menu, where DJs create the perfect, chilled atmosphere for lazy Sunday afternoons. With its unique, easy ambience, great pub-grub and fabulous drinks, Red Lizard is all things to all men (and women) and has thus unsurprisingly garnered an enviable reputation as a notoriously difficult place to leave.
