Unusually for a traditional-style Italian restaurant, the décor in Piazza Italia is chic and contemporary, and the consequently cool ambience is perfect for enjoying the exquisite, authentic food. There’s always a long list of daily specials on offer featuring fresh locally sourced ingredients. Look out for some excellent dishes on the lunch and pre-theatre menus too such as Chicken Stroganoff and Roast fillet of Cod with garlic and herb infused extra virgin olive oil. At just £6.95 for two-courses (lunch) and £9.95 for three courses (pre-theatre) one need not feel so guilty at spending an extra few pounds on one of the excellent bottles of Italian wine on offer.
