The dedicated express lift whisks guests up 23 floors in a mere 15 seconds to the stylish 23rd floor Cloud 23 bar. The views of the city are the most spectacular around, but don’t forget to turn your eyes to the interior, kitted out with design classics such as a Bertoia Diamond chair. The glass panels cut out of the floor offer a dizzying view of pedestrians way down below at street level. The bar promises opulence on a scale never before seen in the city. You can enjoy ever-changing views of the city by night from the double vaulted windows as you sip original and classic cocktails. Muse on the changes between Manchester past and present as you sip an ‘Ena Sparkles’ while looking out over Coronation Street! ‘High Tea’ is now beaing served in Cloud 23 dailyfrom noon until 4pm, offering a selection of finger sandwiches, cakes and scones with cream. If you’re after a truly extravagant experience take a glass of champagne as you gaze over the bustling city. The hotel advises guests to make a reservation since a maximum of 200 people are allowed in the bar at one time. Opening hours are fom 5pm to 1am through the week, and rather later at weekends. Cloud 23 was the proud winner of the Manchester Tourism award for ‘Bar of the Year 2008’, and is unlikely to be topped in 2009.
