Waxy O’Connor’s is a unique Irish bar situated in the Printworks, in the heart of the city centre, though it can also be accessed through the entrance on Corporation Street, opposite Urbis, just a few minutes walk from The Arndale Centre and the MEN Arena. Waxy’s is comprised of a labyrinth of 3 bars covering 4 levels, and 9 separate areas, that are linked together by a beautiful warren of a staircase and a maze of passages. Each area has its own style and atmosphere, making them ideal for all kinds of occasions. You’ll notice that, rightly taking centre stage, is the famous Waxy Tree which is over 250 years old and was shipped over from the Midlands of Ireland; it now runs up and through the 4 floors. There is a variety of entertainment on offer,; you can listen to live music at Electrix night on Fridays at nine, with a variation of live northern cover acts and craicin’ drinks deals. On Saturday nights you can ‘Jump Around’ to their resident DJ playing the best pop. With 2 large screens showing a great range of sports, and a fantastic atmosphere, why not come down to Waxy’s to cheer on your team. Whether it be the 6 Nations, GAA Football & Hurling, Football & Magners League, they show it all. If it’s food you’re after, you can take advantage of the MEAL DEAL OFFER - a pre-concert/theatre/cinema offer of 2-courses and a drink for £10.95 per person, or have Sunday Roast from £8.50 per person. Waxy’s can also arrange private viewings in the Sofa Gallery. Contact the Sales Manager for more information, and find out how to book a party and get free Odeon tickets, and other craicin offers.
