Manchester Craft & Design Centre
Located in Manchester city centre’s Northern Quarter, Manchester Craft and Design Centre is at the hub of a growing innovative artistic community. This unique organisation houses 18 independent studio / retail spaces where artists make jewellery, ceramics, textiles, furniture, photography and painting. It is one of the few places in the UK open to the public where contemporary craft and design is individually produced and sold on the premises. Situated in a building that was originally the Fish Market, with a splendid Victorian glass-roof, visitors come back again and again, enjoying the fantastic atmosphere and excellent cafe. There is also a changing programme of exhibitions from leading international practitioners of contemporary craft and design. Manchester Craft and Design Centre really is a great place to buy original gifts or simply to watch the makers at work and be inspired!
