Rhubarb Restaurant
It’s not often you find a perfect neighbourhood restaurant with stylish dining room, stellar food and friendly service – but Rhubarb, in the foody area of Didsbury, ticks all the boxes. The dining room is light and airy, decorated with graphic floral canvases and filled with locals and Mancurian regulars who keep coming back for the cosy ambience and convivial atmosphere. Immediately winning the City Life Newcomer of the Year award on opening in 2003, it’s built up quite a reputation and following. No wonder, with a hearty international menu including Porcini mushroom risotto dressed with truffle oil and Parmesan cheese; Scottish salmon fillet with Parma ham, or Catalan pork served with saffron, potato, bean, chorizo and tomato stew. And, as the name implies, there’s all manner of rhubarb dishes for dessert.
