Norton House Hotel

Norton House is a gorgeous country house hotel that can be found 20 minutes outside Edinburgh. The Ingliston retreat lies along a tree-lined drive that opens to reveal a regal country home draped in ivy. The rooms are as immaculate as the grounds that encircle the four-star establishment: 83 bedrooms, including four feature rooms, are well-appointed, with luxurious bedding and a pleasing blend of contemporary and traditional features. With views across 55 acres of verdant grounds, Norton House forms a soothing haven that couldn’t be further removed from the din of the city centre. The historic property, once owned by the Usher brewing family, has been meticulously renovated to preserve its original features while enhancing the building with a slew of modern-day comforts. Guest checking in to the grand hotel can enjoy use of a health suite, complete with luxurious spa treatments, a fine dining restaurant, brasserie and cafe bar. Whether it’s a romantic wedding, important business conference or a relaxing break, Norton House is the perfect venue for the occasion. The hospitality is first-class, while the country setting is simply idyllic.

Just back home from having a very enjoyable afternoon tea here, the sandwiches were super fresh, with a good selection of fillings, the scones were warm which I always find appealing & comforting with lashings of jam and clotted cream, mmm, the cakes selection was fine but abit sweet for my taste (personal taste) my husband ate mine haha, I had a lovely pot of assam tea & hubby had coffee, white linen on tables and room was lovely and cool. Young girl who served us very pleasant, all in all a very good experience.

Great place, great room. They even provided a nice 'happy birthday' card and chocolate in our room as it was my birthday one of the days we stayed. Resturaunt is good, but pricey, same with the bar. Unfortunately it's also not the easiest to go elsewhere, without paying a taxi or having a designated driver. So if you're staying a couple of nights here like we did, it's best to make plans for dinner somewhere else at least one of the nights. Spa and pool are excellent. My partner went for a massage and enjoyed it. We both made use of the pool, spa pool, sauna and steam room, which are open till 10 each night.

I was recently a guest at a wedding at the Garden Rooms. It was a beautiful location and the suite was very well laid out. The bar was very well stocked and staff were very friendly.
