Glasgow Science Centre

Glasgow Science Centre promises a world of adventure and discovery that will captivate the whole family. Packed with exhibits which span the history and circumference of the earth, kids and grownups alike will be wide-eyed and full of wonder during a trip to the centre. Situated in the Clyde Waterfront Regeneration area, on the south of the river, the centre first opened its doors to the public in 2001. Its science and technology-based exhibits are creative, engaging and educational, with something for everyone. Small children will enjoy the soft play area, while older kids will love the centre’s interactive displays and exhibits. The Science Centre is also home to an IMAX theatre screen the size of a five-a-side football pitch, where you can enjoy surround sound and stunning visuals – check our website for film details. Visit the centre’s astounding planetarium and explore the lab. Three floors of hands-on exhibits can be found in the Science Mall, while cafes and a gift shop are also onsite. To finish the experience, visitors can travel up to the top of Glasgow Tower to enjoy panoramic views across the city skyline (summer opening hours). In addition to welcoming school tours and the public at large, the centre regularly hosts corporate events. With its gleaming glass and titanium, natural light and wide open spaces, the building epitomises the 21st century industries for which Glasgow is renowned: IT, marketing, banking and finance. A dedicated events team can help develop bespoke packages including in-house catering and state-of-the-art audio-visual solutions. With free WiFi, free car parking and the option to peruse the centre’s 300-odd interactive exhibits, Glasgow Science Centre naturally lends itself to corporate functions of all sizes.

I’ve taken children up to 13 years old here and they’ve totally enjoyed it, as did I. Not keen on the imax cinemas as I felt the room was too small for the screen by far! Loved everything else! Loads for the kids to do, and shop for a few thingymabobs to take home too.

We enjoyed visiting this place with kids, can easily and usefully spend a day with loads fun and learning. I would recommend going with good picnic stuff.

Very nice place with loads of activities to keep you busy. Each level has different type of activity so you will definitely find something you would like. Planetarium is also nice. Good place for kids/toddlers.
