Dakota is a chic bar and grill whose prime assets are fresh produce that’s carefully prepared, simply cooked and beautifully presented. The Grill, situated in Motherwell’s Eurocentral, is not just a hotel restaurant: it’s a highly accomplished bar and grill in its own right. The steaks are cooked simply on hot coals, fresh fish is prepared to perfection and delicious homemade desserts are artfully plated. Patrons are invited to sample a Tasters Deluxe menu of finely crafted hors d'oeuvres to kickstart their evening, washed down with a classic cocktail or martini. International beers and a fine range of wines and malt whisky can also be found on the accomplished drinks menu. During the week, the hotel’s packed with business travellers while at weekends the locals make full use of the excellent hotel bar and grill. Booking ahead is strongly advised. For a starter, the frittomisto is generous and packing with flavour. Steaks are at the heart of the menu, with the Aberdeen Angus fillet, cooked exactly as requested, the pick of the bunch. To finish a memorable meal, try the peanut and honeycomb cheesecake.
