Recognised as one of the finest inland courses in Britain, Downfield Golf Club and Course has hosted many an event throughout its long history. It was a Final Qualifying venue for the Open Championship at Carnoustie in 1999 and 2007, and is now rightly regarded as a premium destination for golfers. The rolling terrain is complemented by stunning surroundings and wildlife: spot foxes, ducks, squirrels and deer, and admire a myriad of tree species besides. The course itself has many challenges, including water features on no less than seven of its holes. The 11th hole, Paddler’s Joy, is regarded as the best hole on the course. Relax afterwards in the warmly decorated clubhouse, which welcomes visitors and members alike. The lounge area, bar and dining room will make sure you’re always catered for, and you can indulge in a bit of snooker if you’re up for it. The staff can cater for large golfing groups too, including your breakfast, lunch and dinner in a package with 36 holes. A great spot for a quiet drink, Downfield Golf Club is a venue to suit everyone.

As an annual visitor to Downfield GC for over 20 years, it is safe to say that it is our favourite golf course, not just in Scotland but in the whole of U.K. Barry in the Pro shop always welcomes us as if we were there last week and not a year previously and we appreciate that so much.

Absolutely fantastic place. Excellent course conditions, good practice facilities all at a good price. Friendly staff and a great clubhouse. Definitely worth a visit.
