The Entertainment Guide

Jules Verne

Feast on fine French cuisine at the charming Jules Verne. The brasserie can be found just off Leith Walk in the city’s East End. As such it’s well placed for pre-theatre dining, business lunches, a quick coffee and pastry, or a hearty breakfast before hitting the nearby shops of George Street and Multrees Walk. The cuisine is simple and authentic, with fresh patisserie made on site and a wide range of coffees, wines, digestifs and aperitifs to complement your meal. On Saturday evenings, you can also enjoy wine and piano nights, with elegant live music performed by Jules Verne’s resident pianist. A two- or three-course set menu for afternoon and early evening dining represents excellent value. Or choose from the mouthwatering à la carte offerings, including the likes of French Onion Soup, Guinea Fowl, Pan Fried Mullet, Venison Stew and Matured Steak.

Excellent value pre-theatre dinner of 3 courses for £15.50! Food and service both good. Nice to be in non chain restaurant. Top marks for homemade desserts as often restaurants fall down in this. Will be back.
