THE ARCADE
The spectacular Arcade is
a Grade II listed shopping
complex in the famous Bristol
Shopping Quarter. Known
locally as The Arcade, the
historic Georgian building was
designed in 1824, modelled on
London’s Burlington Arcade.
Visitors
are
continually
impressed by its Greek revival
entrance, which is flanked
by twin Ionic columns. The
beloved Arcade links The
Horsefair and Broadmead,
and is packed to the rafters
with a wide range of shops
and
services.
Popular
boutiques,
jewellers
and
lifestyle shops call the centre
home. There are also several
independent stores vying for
your attention. Drop into the
independent women’s fashion
outlet Bungles and pick up
vintage hand-picked dresses
or quirky accessories. If you
want a piece of clothing that
you’ll find nowhere else, this
is the place. Milliners’ Guild
is another unique shop selling
hats of all shapes and sizes,
while Old Guys Rule is a store
specialising in clothes and
accessories for the mature
gent. Elsewhere, there is a hair
salon, a tattoo parlour, a tech
store and a wonderful little
shop – The Dragons Gallery
– selling crystals, fossils and
tarot cards.
