The award-winning Glasgow Climbing Centre
accommodates all climbing styles, whether you’re
used to scaling rock faces in the Highlands or
clambering over cyclone fences while running
from Strathclyde Police. All jokes aside, the centre
is a great place to visit if you fancy a different sort
of workout. Beginners will feel immediately at
ease, as there are slabs and vertical walls going
from super-easy to impossibly tricky. You don’t
have to use your hands either; there are roped
climbs using the French grading system, which
span grades 3 to 8a. As far as individual routes
are concerned, there are well over 50 try out, with
an array of grades and angles posing challenges
of even the most experienced climber. Glasgow
Climbing Centre is located in a converted church
and makes use of the vertiginous space to offer a
leisure zone that is truly unique in the city.
