Ibis Budget - Glasgow
As its name would suggest, the Ibis Budget is a cut
price hotel. It may be cheap, but the savings haven’t
come at the expense of quality: cleanliness, service
and amenities here are impressive. Situated on
Springfield Quay, the hotel lies a ten minute walk from
the centre of Glasgow. Bright, contemporary rooms
combine simple decor with practical furnishings.
Each room features en suite shower room, desk,
flatscreen TV and comfortable bed. Guests can
enjoy free parking and easy access to the shops,
restaurants and leisure facilities that are situated
nearby including a cinema, casino and bowling
centre. The hotel is equipped with an accomplished
bar and restaurant, while general amenities include
safety deposit box, luggage storage, express check-
in, business centre and wi-fi. Choose from Standard
Twin, Double or Triple rooms. The day begins with a
continental breakfast buffet and ends by sinking into
your comfy bed in this unpretentious hotel.

Indigo is a four-star hotel where a warm welcome
and a comfy bed come as standard. You’ll get
a lot more than that when you check in to the
Waterloo Street hotel however. While some hotels
are content to play it safe with colours and decor,
Indigo refuses to conform. Decked out in shades
as lurid as its name, the hotel is a sea of bold
colours and striking fabrics. Nothing has been left
to chance here: from the wall sockets to the lobby
music, every last element has been specified
for a reason. There’s a real vibrancy about the
place, an energy that pervades every stairwell
and public space. Guest rooms feature large
beds, spa-style bathrooms and free WiFi. The
quirky decor includes murals by local artists while
an accomplished restaurant serves up locally
sourced food cooked freshly to order. Housed in
a former power station dating to the 1800s, Indigo
is a hotel of some character.
