Every Aberdeen resident harbours special
memories of Codonas. The city’s beach
amusements hold a special place in the heart
of anyone who’s grown up in the Granite City.
Step through Codonas’ doors and you’ll be
met by a sea of light and noise; bright colours,
flashing buttons and chirping games machines.
Kids scurry about, moving from the air hockey
to the arcade machines, while smaller children
explore Smugglers’ Cove. Much of the fun to be
had at Codonas can be found outside, where the
amusements include the Grampian Eye, a big
wheel whose apex grants fine views up and down
the beach. There’s also waltzers, a pirate ship,
crazy golf and two roller coasters. It may not be
the largest amusement park in Scotland, but what
Codonas lacks in scale it more than makes up for
in sheer unadulterated fun.
