One of Aberdeen’s most famous sons, Paul
Lawrie’s achievements on the course are well
documented. The 1999 Open Championship
winner now operates an eponymous golfing centre
near Banchory. Situated on South Deeside Road,
Paul Lawrie Golf Centre incorporates a driving
range, golf course and shop, with an emphasis
on administering expert tuition. Set in the verdant
Royal Deeside countryside, the golf centre is a
haven of tranquility save for the faint whack of golf
balls emanating from the range. The 27-bay driving
range is complemented by a short game area
and a nine-hole par three course. With three PGA
teaching professionals on hand, Paul Lawrie Golf
Centre can help players of all ability levels improve
their game. Advanced technologies from the likes
of V1, Flightscope and Quintic enable golfers
to analyse their stroke and make incremental
adjustments. 30-minute lessons can be purchased
in blocks of six, with children’s tuition available.
After refining your golf swing, you’ll doubtless
desire equipment that is commensurate with your
new skill level. The centre’s club shop is packed
with top clothing, clubs and accessories to ensure
you look and feel your very best as you walk the
course. There’s also physiotherapy services on
site, handy if you do find yourself with a sports
injury or unwanted aches and pains. For post game
socialising and refreshment, you can head to the
Claret Coffee Shop for a range of filling snacks,
soups, sandwiches, home baking and beverages
(children’s parties can also be hosted here). There
are also ample meeting room facilities to meet the
requirements of your conference, training session
or corporate event - your delegates will certainly be
impressed by this lovely setting. Open from 9am till
9pm during the week and 9am to 6pm at weekends,
the centre offers plenty of opportunity to perfect
your swing in these stunning scenic surroundings.
