Kelburn Estate is a little bit different to your
typical historic house in Scotland. It’s got the 13th
century castle, dramatic walks and breathtaking
gardens, but it’s also been entirely made over
by a team of Brazilian artists! The whole house
front is awash with a rainbow of drawings and
paintings, and acts as a centre point to extensive
events and activities. Try your hand at pony-
trekking or take the little ones to the fabulous
pet’s corner, or go an adventure in the Secret
Forest - a complex of woodland paths and raised
walkways. If you need to relax afterwards take
the kids to the Playbarn, where they’ll be able to
expend their energy roaming through the maze
of tunnels, dens and slides. If you’re not already
worn out, go on the hunt to see the estate’s
abundance of wildlife, including roe deer, voles,
buzzards and otters.
