ROYAL BATH
The Theatre Royal Bath is well
worth a visit, not only to enjoy
one of the many year-round
shows and creative works
on offer, but for the Grade II
listed building’s historic and
architectural value. Dating
back to 1805, it has played
host to countless significant
theatrical works, while many
of the UK’s finest actors past
and present have graced its
stage. In 2010 the theatre
underwent a large scale
refurbishment following an
appeal from its patron, the
Duchess of Cornwall, and now
comprises the original Main
House, the Ustinov Studio and
a space dedicated to shows
and outreach for children,
young people and families:
The Egg. In addition to these
performance areas, there
are several venues for eating
and drinking: The Vaults
Restaurant, The Garrick’s
Head Pub, the Egg Cafe and
several theatre bars. Small and
large scale touring productions
visit the theatre, but it also has
its own production company
which has to date produced
over 200 plays and shows.
With so much happening at
the Theatre Royal Bath, you’ll
be spoilt for choice.
