Cambridge Meridian Golf Club straddles the
Meridian Line, just one of ten courses worldwide
to do so. In fact, golfers cross the Meridian Line
seven times during the course of a round at the
Comberton Road club. The course sits majestically
in a 210 acre site between the villages of Comberton
and Toft, just five miles west of Cambridge. It was
designed by Ryder Cup players Peter Alliss and
Clive Clark and is generally acclaimed as their top
UK course design. At 6,700 yards, with a par of 73,
strategic water hazards and challenging greens
it is a stern test for professionals. Its generous
fairways make it pleasantly playable for club golfers
however. Reminiscent of a traditional links course,
it combines classic golf with modern course design.
The three-tier fifth green has been described as a
wicked roller coaster and the 18th was voted best
finishing hole in the region. Cambridge Meridian
is one of only four clubs in the county with the
prestigious Golf Mark status. This tells you that
it meets stringent conditions to welcome juniors
into golf. The club forms a popular venue for golf
society days including charity golf events, with
a range of packages to suit the occasion. It’s no
stranger to hosting weddings either. The Meridian’s
experienced team will help you throw a memorable
reception; staff can talk you through everything
from balloons to cake knives, flowers to chair
covers, photographers and of course the menu.
Cambridge Meridian Golf Club is also a popular
setting for birthday parties, family gatherings,
dinners, afternoon tea parties, engagement parties,
Christenings and celebrations of life. The team
can cater for a sit down meal for 80 guests to 120
for a buffet or informal gathering. Whether you’re
