Tryst Road, Cumbernauld
Glasgow, G67 1JW
If you lead a busy lifestyle, the Antonine Centre
is a godsend: after all, it’s open seven days a
week and easy to access. The purpose-built retail
environment welcomes tens of thousands of visitors
per week, who flock through its doors to browse
and buy from an array of High Street retailers.
The Antonine Shopping Centre was conceived
as a flagship development by London & Regional
Properties and includes such tenants as Dunnes,
Next and TK Maxx. The Cumbernauld shopping
centre features 350,000 sq ft of retail space
including a 100,000 sq ft Tesco Extra, situated in
a separate building to the main centre but attached
by walkways. At 43,000 sq ft, the Dunnes is also
extremely capacious. The centre, which opened
in 2007, incorporates the historic clock from St
Enoch railway station in Glasgow, made famous in
the 1981 film Gregory’s Girl. As well as the Tesco
Extra and Dunnes superstores, the centre has retail
outlets occupied by River Island and JD Sports.
The Antonine Centre has helped to rejuvenate
Cumbernauld, bringing much needed footfall to
the area and transforming the local economy. In
all, you’ll find over 40 shops under one roof plus
a great selection of food and drink outlets. Plan
an impromptu getaway at Barrhead Travel, treat
yourself to a mini-makeover at Best Nails and pick
up a few accessories at Claire’s. In the market for
a new mobile phone? Take your pick from the 3
Store and Carphone Warehouse. The centre also
contains four civic spaces that have been designed
for community use and a commemorative artwork
commissioned to mark the 50th anniversary of
the town of Cumbernauld. Open from 9am - 6pm
Monday to Saturday and 11am - 5pm on Sundays,
the Antonine Centre is your one-stop shop for
fashion, food, homeware, toiletries, cosmetics and
much more.
