Lost Art
Lost Art is an online and highstreet clothing
emporium that’s been open since the dying days of
the 20th century. In fact it first said hello to Liverpool
in September 1999. The Slater Street skate shop has
a reputation as one of the best independent clothing
outlets in the country, and its popularity is particularly
rampant in the skating community. Indeed, Lost Art
beat skate shops from Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam
and Stuttgart to win the coveted Best Skate Shop
prize at the 2012 Bright European Skateboard
Awards. In addition to stocking famous brands
such as Polar Skate Co, Independent, Vans, Bad
Company, Thunder, Polar, Venture and National,
the shop also designs its own pieces, including
beanies which have come to grace the heads of
many of the city’s top boarders. Indeed, the store’s
staff comprise a formidable lineup of riders, which
only serves to enhance the impression that Lost
Art is a community of likeminded individuals rather
than a commercial entity regulated by numbers on
a balance sheet. The attire on sale at Lost Art isn’t
exclusively designed for skaters, incidentally, though
skating is the bedrock of the store. That being said,
you’ll find hats, t-shirts, coats and accessories which
do not necessarily conform to the skater mould –
items like track tops and puffer vests. If skating is
your obsession though, you’ll be right at home. Lost
Art also sells boards, available in a range of colours
and sporting a multitude of designs. The green and
yellow Rowan Zorilla board is a popular option with
new riders, but suffice to say there’s no shortage
of brands. The choice of kicks is similarly varied;
everything from Nike SBs, Converse One Star Pros
and Adidas Superstar Vulc X Alltimers.Whether
