the climbing centre provides a safe environment in

skills. With over 1,000 square metres of climbing,

ascent to the top, at a pace that suits their ability
level. Small top rope walls are a good place to get
started, though experienced climbers will make
a beeline for the 17.5-metre lead wall, with its
imposing 8-metre overhang. Over the years, the
centre has hosted national climbing competitions
including the BICC. Awesome Walls isn’t just for
climbing either: it’s also for clambering, thanks
to an array of bouldering areas. These will allow
you to hone the sort of multi-terrain skills that will
come handy when you head to the hills.
