Scotts Bar & Restaurant opened at Troon Yacht Haven in the summer of 2004 with one objective: to serve quality food and beverages in luxury surroundings with superb service. Since then the venue has gone from strength to strength, with the customers’ experience remaining paramount. It’s not about giving the customer what they want, it’s about going the extra mile and anticipating their wants. The Restaurant even lays on a complimentary car at weekends to take people home. No expense has been spared on the décor: the terrace has a retractable roof for lazy summer days, and there are two stone feature fires and a heated terrace floor to keep you warm. The views are unsurpassed as you relax with a cocktail or glass of Moet, and take in the breathtaking vistas of the Troon marina and Clyde coast. The extensive menu has something for all palates, subtly merging the contemporary with the traditional – and of course this beach venue features local quality seafood dishes. Food is available all day – from 8.30am till late - with early morning breakfast, pastries, light bites and snacks, as well as a fantastic selection on the a la carte menu. Starters range from cullen skink to seared local scallops; or you can share a Scottish tapas, comprising smoked venison, haggis timbale, garlic cream mussels, smoked salmon and prawn roulade, hot peppered mackerel and Highland oaties. For mains you can sample some splendid seafood dishes, such as lobster and tiger prawn open lasagne or panfried swordfish. Carnivores can have a steak with a wide choice of sauces: vegetarians will be spoilt by the wild mushroom and asparagus lasagne. A special supper menu includes such delights as Thai spiced chicken, or gateau of haggis, neeps and tatties. At Scotts you can get anything you might want at practically any time.
