pieces. He takes on commissions large and small,
whether it be a piece of new or upcycled furniture,
or an entire kitchen or interior refurb. Mia focuses
on finding exciting and talented new designers’
work to sell, especially items from makers who
are Scottish. Shop handpicked clothing labels
and handmade jewellery, alongside practical and
stylish homeware and furniture that’s sure be

Quine means woman in Doric, the Scottish
language particular to the north east. This shop
is owned by an Aberdonian quine, Lisa Irving,
long fascinated by all things vintage. Lisa is also a
drama teacher and takes inspiration from the stage
in the styling, dressing and creativity on display
at Vintage Quine. It is filled with nostalgia and
sells accessories, homeware, gifts, dresses, suits
and two-pieces, all with an abundance of history
and rich in character. The cobbled streets and
listed buildings of Falkland, once home to Mary
Queen of Scots, make the perfect setting for this
vintage boutique. Search the continually-changing
collections of unique, pre-loved items from bygone
