Ballumbie Castle Golf Club is a fairly new
course, but has already become popular with
the locals. A fantastic clubhouse and excellent
practice facilities are some of the main reasons
why golfers choose Ballumbie, though the
course itself is no less impressive. The mixed
terrain sweeps and twists; you certainly won’t
find two holes the same throughout its entirety.
For the first six holes, positioning is more
important than distance, but as you make your
way to the tenth you’ll notice the difficulty and
range increasing. If you need to get in a bit of
practice, the club has a 20-bay covered driving
range: floodlit at night, you’ll be able to pitch
and drive whenever you want. Ballumbie also
offers a wide range of ‘credit crunch’ deals,
perfect for large groups who fancy a day out
on the course.

Get fit, unwind and socialise all under one roof,
at East Kilbride’s Nuffield Health club.The venue
comprises: a state of the art gym, beauty suite,
swimming pool, cafe, sauna and steam room and
has a friendly, family atmosphere. The weekly
timetable offers a variety of class styles, with
something for all ages and abilities. Take part in
everything from Body Balance, to Legs Bum and
Tums, and HIIT in the modern and airy studios.
Children and young people have their own activity
programme and, for very little ones, there’s an
onsite creche. Work with a personal trainer in
