Central Scotland-2020-2021 - page 86

Scotland has won two new stars in the latest
Michelin guide to the top restaurants in Britain
and Ireland. Condita in Edinburgh and Isle
of Eriska, were awarded their first stars in the
prestigious guide’s list for 2020.
Condita is an intimate six table restaurant in
the southern suburbs of Edinburgh. It opened
in November 2018 and is a new addition to the
Michelin Guide - going straight in with One
Michelin Star.
Isle of Eriska restaurant is set in an impressive
baronial mansion, in an idyllic spot on a 300
acre private island on the West Coast of Scotland. The luxury hotel offers a spa and golf
course, as well as boasting fantastic views of Loch Linnhe and the Morvern Mountains.
Scotland’s largest city Glasgow, remains without a Michelin-starred eatery, although
Monadh Kitchen in Bearsden and Sugar Boat in Helensburgh retain their Bib Gourmand
designation, along with Ox and Finch in the West End.

Celebrating Excellence
Graeme Cheevey at Isle of Eriska
“I’ve had my eye on a Michelin
Star, the ultimate accolade for
a chef, since joining Eriska, so
winning one after just over a
year in post is just fantastic.
I have a great young team
around me in the kitchen
here and can’t wait to further
develop our unique style as one
of Scotland’s top restaurants.”
