CARNOUSTIE
GOLF LINKS
Formally instituted in 1842,
Carnoustie Golf Club can
boast of being one of the ten
oldest golf clubs in the world,
and one of the best courses
to boot. The Championship
course is widely recognised
as the toughest stretch in
Open Championship golf:
it’s a par 72, but with a
standard stretch score for
amateurs of 75. Members
are also able to play on
the Burnside and Buddon
Links, two of the other first-
class courses in Carnoustie.
The Burnside’s 5th and
14th holes are particularly
challenging, so the course
is in no way overshadowed
by its illustrious neighbour.
As for Buddon Links, it
was only opened in 1979,
but is the perfect place
to practice for the more
challenging Championship
course. After an exciting
day of golf you can relax in
the welcoming atmosphere
of the clubhouse, where
parties large and small are
welcome to have a rest.
There are two bars, three
lounges and a dining room
to sit 40, so you’ll be well
catered for however long
you plan to stay.
