Recognised as one of the finest inland courses
in Britain, Downfield Golf Club and Course
has hosted many an event throughout its long
history. It was a Final Qualifying venue for the
Open Championship at Carnoustie in 1999 and
2007, and is now rightly regarded as a premium
destination for golfers. The rolling terrain is
complemented by stunning surroundings and
wildlife. The course itself has many challenges,
including water features on no less than seven of
its holes. The 11th hole, Paddler’s Joy, is regarded
as the best hole on the course. Relax afterwards
in the warmly decorated clubhouse, the lounge
area, bar and dining room will make sure you’re
always catered for. The staff can cater for large
golfing groups too, including your breakfast, lunch
and dinner in a package with 36 holes. A great
spot for a quiet drink, Downfield Golf Club is a
