Amber Regent is an attractively named Chinese
restaurant, one of many within Glasgow’s thriving
Asian community. This eatery stands out however by
serving sumptuous food and its owner, Andy Chung,’s
exceptionally high standards. This experienced
restaurateur has used his 20 plus years in the
catering industry to create a dining experience that
is memorable for all the right reasons. The plush
and elegant decor elicits images of imperial Asia,
aided by the oil paintings depicting regal Hong Kong
and Chinese grandeur . Amber Regent - its name
inspired their West Regent Street home - specialises
in seafood. With both a la carte and business menus
to tempt city centre residents, workers and travelers,
the restaurant fills up swiftly most lunchtimes and
again around supper time. Service, as you would
expect from any self-respecting Chinese restaurant, is
impeccable. Amber Regent is justifiably proud of the
many loyal customers it has accrued over the years,
lured by the freshly cooked food.

Shanghai Teahouse is a contemporary restaurant
serving Chinese cuisine in sophisticated
surroundings. Located in the Bothwell area
of Glasgow, diners can enjoy meals here from
12pm to 10pm Monday to Saturday and from
12.30pm to 10pm on Sundays. Eat in or take
away, choosing from the extensive dishes, all
cooked with homemade stock broth. Enjoy
some Oriental pre-dinner cocktails like Shanghai
Shuffle and Canton Ginger (or wine, champagne,
beer or cider from the bar). The range of meats,
fish and vegetables are all locally sourced, with
vegetarian and gluten-free options also available.
House specials on the a la carte menu include
claypot duck with pickled ginger and spring
onion, twice-cooked pork belly with spicy black
bean sauce and Thai chilli extra-matured rib
eye beef. There’s also a great-value two-course
lunch menu on offer from Monday to Saturday.
