Mother India is the perfect embodiment of
everything that is great about Glasgow’s restaurant

downstairs eatery, grand first-floor dining room and
subterranean cellar floor that provides the perfect
mix of privacy and quiet. The friendly staff go out
of their way to make everyone feel welcome. The
food is what Mother India is famous for however,
and it is their diverse and satisfying array of dishes
that provide regular awards, plaudits and repeat
visits. Founded 15 years ago now, this restaurant
continues to delight as much as ever.

Café India is one of Glasgow’s oldest restaurants,
having been delighting diners for decades. It’s
evolved over the years, whilst remaining true
to the values and standards that have always
defined it. Executive Chef Bablu Roderick has
a wealth of experience, working his magic for
hotels and restaurants across India before
bringing his skills to the UK. The restaurant,
which is open till 10:30pm from Thursday to
Sunday, does an express lunch service as well
as a pre-theatre and full a la carte menu. There’s
also a popular takeaway service. Whether you
choose to eat in or at home, you can enjoy such
dishes as Creamy Masala, Ceylonese Korma
and South Indian Garlic Chilli. There’s also room
for a small selection of European dishes, but for
the true Café India experience, you have to go
for one of the mouth-watering curries, served as
spicy as you like it.
