Designed in 1877 the former
gentlemen’s
club,
Union
Club was built in the French
Renaissance style by architect,
M.P. Manning. The Grade II
listed building was designed
with flamboyant roofscape
features and prominent slender
chimneys in a unique French
chateau style. The lastest
refurbishment commenced in
August 2018, when Cyclone
Leisure Group enlisted Dakota
House of Design, based in
Newcastle upon Tyne, to create
a new look for the building.
The Union Rooms serves
food every day. Try authentic
pizzas designed by their sister
restaurant San Lorenzo and
made in an open pizza oven,
take your time with vegan-
friendly treats in the Garden
Room, or enjoy good, filling
American comfort food for
lunch or dinner. Behind the bar
the creative mixologists conjure
up some of the most delicious
cocktails. Sometimes the
occasion calls for something
a little more special. The
First Floor can be booked for
any private hire including,
celebrations corporate events
and parties. Hiring the full floor
will allow you to have your own
bar with a fantastic Cocktail
and Drinks menus, as well as
a bespoke buffet menu created
by the team of talented chefs.
