The Framework gallery was established in 1990
by Peter and Fiona Foyle to provide not only a
creative and quality picture framing service but
also to offer a gallery exhibiting original paintings
by Scottish Artists. There is also a range of
limited edition giclee prints available as well as an
interesting array of craft pieces, home accessories
and gifts. Peter graduated from St. Martin’s School
of Art, London in 1986 and worked as a freelance
illustrator before becoming involved in the picture
framing and fine art trade. Working as an artist
as well as a picture framer has enabled Peter to
offer an insight into picture framing seldom found
elsewhere. The Framework Gallery sells a range
of different handmade crafts for the home. We do
recommend our customers come in to view the
products as most of our crafts are one of a kind,
example pictures can only represent the types of
works that may be available.
MCCALLUM BAGPIPES
Troon Road, Kilmarnock
East Ayrshire, KA2 0BA

Scotland is the home of the bagpipes, and
McCallum Bagpipes is the world’s greatest Great
Highland Bagpipe maker. This is the place to come
for chanters, reeds, music books, recordings and
smallpipes, as well as Andante, Pear and Premier
pipe band drums and even traditional Highland
clothing, with accessories by the Ayrshire Kilt
Shop. Explore the huge showroom spread over
a 10,000 square foot factory warehouse building.
The company started out in 1998 with three staff,
when it existed in far smaller quarters. Now the
team of 34 manufacture 40 sets of bagpipes
a week on site, ensuring the very best quality
workmanship – you can even watch some of these
being made from the viewing gallery during your
visit. As the staff are almost all pipers, they are
true specialists in the field and can offer expert
help and advice.
