Situated on Bradbury Place,
in the core of Belfast’s
upmarket Queen’s Quarter,
Alibi is the place to visit if
you enjoy bourbon served
with a twist. Which is not
to pigeonhole the chic bar:
you’ll find an array of drinks
to suit your mood, from
hoppy beers to crisp wine
from the new world. Spread
across two floors, with a bar
on the ground and a nightclub
on the upper level, Alibi is
the perfect place to grab a
cocktail or bite to eat. Choose
from little or large plates;
highlights include parmesan
herb-crusted fishcakes and
pan-fried sea bass fillet
with saffron veloute. The
desserts, it must be said,
are similarly mouthwatering.
Don’t be surprised if you find
yourself too full to ascend
the staircase and party hard;
perhaps a stop at the bar
is all you’ll manage. The
atmosphere on the ground
floor is enhanced by live
acoustic sets every Thursday,
Friday and Saturday. If you
do manage to check out the
club, good times await, with
some of the finest local DJs
spinning uptempo tunes till
the wee hours.
