CAFÉ ROUGE
Full of history and culture,
Café Rouge is a bistro is
situated on the historic Bridge
Street in a stunning Grade
II listed building, thought to
have been constructed in
the 17th Century. With a nod
to the history of cycling in
Cambridge, a rouge painted
bicycle with dressed basket
sits outside the building, with
a bicycle themed wall mural
leading into the courtyard. The
outside courtyard is partially
sheltered by a large heated
umbrella, perfect for al fresco
dining whatever the weather.
The top floor of the restaurant
can be booked free of charge
for large parties, celebrations
or events. Whether you’ve
built up an appetite cruising
the shops, or are grabbing a
bite to eat before visiting the
cinema, you can expect five-
star service and a pleasant,
homely atmosphere. Café
Rouge provides diners with an
extensive selection of mainly
French-inspired dishes; if
you’re not especially hungry,
it’s also a fine spot in which to
enjoy a freshly-brewed coffee
and croissant. If you want to
go the whole hog, you can
expect such delights as steak
frites, boeuf bourguignon and
confit de canard.
