middle of Cardiff and close
to Cardiff Castle, the National
Museum and the Millennium
Stadium. Pop in and soak

pizza. Until opening their first
restaurant on Wardour Street
in 1965, the chain’s founder,
Peter Boizot, swore you
couldn’t find good pizza in the
UK. But now it’s everywhere,
in every one of Pizza Express’
restaurants. The secret to
their success? Pizza Express
never over-complicate their
food. Peter Boizot urged his
team to ‘keep it simple’, and
that’s exactly what they’ve
done for the last 50 years.
Naturally, the restaurant
evolves its menu to keep
things fresh and exciting,
but the fundamentals of the
food will always remain the
same: simple, great-quality
ingredients coupled with
beautiful dough. The secret
dough recipe hasn’t changed
since day one. From the
sweet Italian tomatoes that
are crushed into the passata
to the triple-certified coffee,
it’s all good at Pizza Express.
