traditional Georgian mansion,
set amid a whopping 1,000-acre
estate, certainly makes a great
first impression. Built in 1780,
and still owned by the same
family, the place is furnished in
an attractive yet unpretentious
manner, with flourishes such
as hunting trophies and family
portraits providing a nice touch.
With nine bedrooms, sleeping
17 people, the residence is
available to rent and is ideal
for weekend stays or private
parties. The 18th-century Italian
drawing room and traditional
Highland dining room make a
great space for a family banquet
or birthday party. The dining
room alone can seat as many
as 22. The vast surrounding
estate, meanwhile, presents
the perfect opportunity for a
long walk in the woodland or an
excursion to the beach. There’s
even a trout loch attached to
the property. Moreover, the
owners of Geddes House are
more than happy to share their
local knowledge and arrange
activities for guests. In recent
years, a modern chalet has
been added to the grounds.
