Situated a 15-minute drive from Glasgow city
centre, Redstones Hotel offers elegant bedrooms

five-minute walk from Uddingston rail station, with
trains reaching Glasgow in 10 minutes. Edinburgh
city centre is 40 minutes’ drive from the hotel. The
hotel’s cosy bedrooms are individually decorated,
with many of them featuring large bay windows
and panelled walls. All rooms have a TV with
DVD player and a modern en-suite bathroom with
complimentary toiletries. If the accommodation is
plush, the food is better still. The on-site restaurant
serves a varied menu, featuring quality local
produce and fresh Scottish fish. There’s also a
stylish bar stocked with fine wines, classic cocktails
and a light grill menu. Drinks can be savoured on
the spacious terrace or in the airy conservatory.
Situated on the Glasgow Road, Redstone Hotel
came under new management in early 2016 and
has since enjoyed an extensive refurbishment.
Monthly gourmet dinners and regular live music are
among the many attractions. When the weather is
kind, the extensive beer garden is always popular
with diners keen to enjoy a drink or bite to eat in
the sun. At the heart of the hotel’s menu is a grill
section of steaks, chops and skewers supplied by a
well-respected local butcher. Elsewhere on the a la
carte, pub favourites such as traditional steak pie
rub shoulders with tempura battered haddock and
the house burger. European and Asian flavours
are also present in certain dishes like the grilled
sea bass with chorizo and bean stew, the wild
mushroom gnocchi and the Thai green chicken
curry. Sunday roasts, a Wednesday night beef club
and an attractively priced pre-theatre menu all add
to the charms of Redstones Hotel, Restaurant and
Wine Bar.
