Launched in July 2012, Mondo is a multi-purpose
hotel, bar and restaurant in the heart of Coatbridge
which places an emphasis on subtle style and
comfort. Formerly known as Centre Lodge, the
hotel’s extensive refurbishment has transformed
it into a plush retreat that promises comfortable
accommodation and first-class dining in the heart of
Coatbridge. Guests can expect to receive a warm
welcome as they arrive and approach the 24-hour
reception desk. Free secure parking is provided,
while Mondo’s prime location means it’s just a short
drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow via the nearby M8
motorway. The hotel is also a 13-minute walk from
the Summerlee Museum Of Scottish Industrial Life
and five miles from M&D’s amusement park. Free
WiFi is provided throughout the hotel. Guest rooms
boast an elegant modernised design, comprising
neutral yet tasteful décor with a hint of tartan and
vibrant soft furnishings to enhance the pristine white
linen. Each room has a wall mounted HD Smart TV, a
welcome tray and hairdryer. There’s also an en suite
shower/bathroom with complimentary toiletries and
white towels. Calm lighting and blackout curtains
made with a luxury fabric, coupled with the super-
comfy mattresses, mean that a blissful night’s
sleep is all but assured. In the morning, guests can
awaken to the prospect of a complimentary cooked
breakfast. For travellers on a budget, Mondo also
offers Basic Rooms which provide excellent value for
money. If the hotel is comfy, the adjoining restaurant
is simply divine. With a menu more akin to something
you’d find at a five-star boutique, there’s a lot to lust
over. Juicy sirloin and fillet steaks, burgers with
a handful of varied and inventive toppings and a
selection of pasta and risotto plates are all worthy of
