COTSWOLD
WILDLIFE PARK
AND GARDENS
Cotswold Wildlife Park and
Gardens exhibits over 260
different species of animals
and boasts the largest privately
owned zoological collection in
the UK by species. Set in 160
acres of landscaped parkland
and gardens two miles south of
Burford, thepark attracts around
350,000 people annually. The
park, which was established
in 1970, relies entirely on
visitors to fund its staff and
animals. It also operates a
thriving education programme,
numerous endangered species
breeding programmes and
several vital conservation
projects in the wild. From
hands-on experiences and
animal adoptions to videos and
photos from the park, there’s
something for everyone at
Cotswold Wildlife Park. Take
a ride on the narrow-gauge
railway for a bird’s eye view
of the park and look out for
the penguin feeding, which
takes place every day at
11am and 3pm in the Walled
Garden. Keepers will be on
hand to answer your questions.
Visitors should also head to
the spectacular Madagascar
walk-through at 12 noon to find
out more about the fascinating
creatures of this unique island
and the conservation projects
that the park is involved in.
