Located in the atmospheric lower-level dining room of ABode Manchester, Michael Caines Restaurant and Champagne Bar is an excellent venue for a delicious meal accompanied by a few drinks. Serving a range of exhilarating and innovative European cuisine, the restaurant makes use of only the best local and regional produce. Ingredients from Manchester, Cheshire and the outlying areas combine to infuse dishes with lip-smacking flavour. The eponymous chef has borrowed heavily from his experience at the two Michelinstarred Gidleigh Park, and the result is plain to see. Each dish bears the hallmark of the esteemed chef’s culinary wizardry, while plates are presented to a very high standard. Choose from starters such as crab ravioli, served with pink grapefruit, ginger, crab and lemongrass bisque, or a sumptuous selection of glazed lamb sweetbreads. Mains, meanwhile, come in the form of corn-fed chicken breast with morel sauce and confit leg croustillant or wild mushroom tagliatelle with chives and truffle. Michael Caine has personally underscored the importance of wine in the enjoyment of fine dining. As such, the wine list has been expertly curated to accompany the cuisine; a range of whites and reds from around the globe will perfectly complement the food.
