The Stand Comedy Club, with its sister venues in both Glasgow and Newcastle, has become world renowned for top class comedy. Situated in York place in the heart of the New Town, The Stand is open seven nights a week. The Stand has become a favourite haunt for locals and tourists wishing to see comedy in its purest form. Friday and Saturday nights are weekend specials featuring five comedians but be quick to book as these shows sell out most weekends. Monday night is Red Raw, the legendary new material night for only £5 featuring up to ten acts. This place isn't very big so the comedy is right in your face, in a good way. The acts seem to feed off the atmosphere of the crowd being so close. Definitely Edinburgh's best comedy club and somewhere you need to experience if you enjoy live comedy.
