The intimate curry house is characterised as much by its rustic charm – mismatched seats, sprawling sofas, painted brick walls, kooky picture frames and an outdoor shisha area – as by its delicious dishes. The staff themselves are attentive and friendly, ever keen to ensure your whims are catered for. Indeed, you’ll be offered a tray of poppadoms and dips soon after your arrival, though you may wish to reserve room for the starters on offer. Popular appetiser choices include fish pakora, liver tikka and the Luigi Khan’s mixed grill, which includes lamb seekh, chicken seekh, chicken tikka and lamb chops, the platter served alongside a fresh salad. The main menu is similarly jam-packed with traditional Indian favourites, from staples like chicken tikka masala and rogan josh to palakaloo dhal, Lahori fried king prawns and the keemaaloomattarbalti. Don’t forget to order a freshly-bakednaan on the side. There’s plenty of room for personal preference, with garlic and coriander naan, keemanaan and cheese naan vying for your attention. Alternatively, swap your pilau rice for a soft tandoori roti, paratha or chapatti. When it comes to quenching your thirst, you’ll be spoiled for choice. The drinks menu includes many varieties of white, red and rosé wine, as well as champagne and Prosecco. Beers and lagers, meanwhile, include Cobra, Kingfisher, Budweiser and Peroni. A number of cocktails and mocktails, too, are available, with fine options including the Sea Breeze – an alluring concoction composed of peach schnapps, vodka, cranberry and orange – or the Coco Loco, a non-alcoholic mix of pineapple juice, milk and coconut cream.
