Science Oxford hosts live science-inspired events programmes across Oxfordshire including talks, performance, film, workshops, debate and festivals. It operates a popular Saturday Science Club, family shows and hosts workshops at schools. Anything and everything is fair game for receiving the Science Oxford treatment; the centre’s events, which are hosted throughout the year, will pique your curiosity and fire your imagination, whether it’s examining the probability and psychology of poker or teaching under 12s about the science behind food in a hands-on tasting class. Science Oxford isn’t afraid to dabble in comedy either – provided it’s on a science tip of course. WiFi Wars, for example, is a live comedy game show where everyone gets to join in the fun. Bring your smartphone and grab a slice of the action. Major pillars of the scientific community are proudly supported and amplified by Science Oxford. The centre has helped to broadcast Richard Dawkins in conversation with Lord John Krebs to celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Selfish Gene. Schools are regularly encouraged to engage with the centre throughout term time, including The Big Science Event which is open to pupils across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Secondary schools and colleges are also supported, with interactive science shows and projects devised specifically to inspire teen audiences. Outstanding students are recognised and celebrated via the centre’s Young Scientist of the Year award, which is open to exceptional Physics, Chemistry and Biology students from year 13. Business leaders are also encouraged to engage with schools, which hold the inventors and scientists of tomorrow; STEM businesses in particular are part of Science Oxford’s mission to educate and inspire. The charitable organisation operates out of Oxford Centre for Innovation, situated in the city centre, which provides flexible office space, virtual offices and meeting rooms in a fully connected and serviced environment.

Exibition area very stimulating for all ages. Woodland walk would need boots or wellies in wet weather. Bit surprised at lack of different bins for separating litter, especially as we should be encouraging our young people to recycle.
