Elia

Elia is an elegant little restaurant that supplies an authentic taste of Grecian cuisine. The food is fresh, the atmosphere is relaxed and the outgoing staff are as memorable as the dishes they serve in the convivial surroundings. Traditional meze dishes, designed for sharing, are a speciality, as you would expect in such a proudly Greek establishment. Situated in Glasgow’s historic George Square, Elia is as pretty as its surroundings. Housed in a listed building, the elegant spot lighting is complemented by tall windows and glass ceiling panels that allow natural light to permeate. An early evening, fixed price menu provides great value for money, with generous portions of warming Mediterranean fare. The a la carte menu, meanwhile, is packed with slow-cooked meats served with Grecian herbs and vegetables as well as classic kebabs hot off the grill. Beef, pork, chicken and lamb are accompanied by roast vegetables, Cretan cheese and a selection of homemade sauces. Finally, the wine list features a selection of bottles from Greece, Cyprus and the rest of the Med, ensuring that every morsel is washed down with the perfect accompaniment.
