Glasgow’s Mussel Inn serves up a truly wondrous array of fresh seafood dishes, just as you would hope and expect. The restaurant’s remit extends much further than that however, with meat and vegetarian dishes every bit as accomplished as their crustaceous equivalents. While a predilection for good seafood is advantageous to fully enjoy the Mussel Inn, it is by no means essential. The inn’s trademark mussels are as good a place to start as any, served up in pots that are perfect for dipping bread into. Sourced from sea lochs on the West Coast and Shetlands of Scotland, these juicy offerings are perfectly complemented by a variety of scintillating sauces. Oysters are available by the half or full dozen, while melt-in-the-mouth shellfish pasta is made using mussels, scallops, gambas and crayfish. Even the simpler offerings have been carefully thought out however, with Aberdeen Angus burgers proving to be surprisingly tasty. A three-course menu provides good value for money, enabling first-time diners the chance to experience a selection of the culinary riches that the Mussel Inn has to offer.

The restaurant is a bit sterile in its appearance but the seafood is very good. I started with the Moroccan style steamed mussels and would have been happy if that's all I had. It was a huge offering. But dinner was just as good. All four of us really enjoyed the experience.
Food is good, the service can be a little hit or miss. Still worth a trip if you like mussels of course
